Ardor: Meteora Fantasy Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-004-3571

With a storied history dating back to 1911, the Ardor marque is a long-standing family business that is still owned and operated by the descendants of the original founder. After his father founded Sociedade Rovera in Varese, Italy, young Angelo Rovera knew he wanted to carry on the family's legacy within the pipe industry. With the help of his son, Angelo established Ardor in 1974, and worked to maintain the high level of craftsmanship and quality products he'd been brought up with. After Angelo's passing over 20 years later in 1999, his grandsons, Damiano and Dimitri, took over the business and still run it today.

This bent Dublin from Ardor is an interesting iteration of the classic shape. From a sweeping heel, the walls of the bowl rise with Zulu-like flare, though the bowl itself is not canted forward enough to be classified as such. Subtle ridgelines extend through the shank to the bowl's flanks, and all the way up to the rim, giving said rim a lenticular look when viewed from above. Out back, a broad transition provides ample room to wrap the thumb and marks the start of a trim shank that lifts up to join a green acrylic accent. A metallic band protrudes from the shank face, which meets a stylized stem made of the same shimmering acrylic as the aforementioned accent. The sleekness of the aft juxtaposes the craggy fore, which is dressed in Ardor's Meteora finish.
