Between the execution of line, proportionality, and depth of blast, this Armentrout straight Brandy seems right out of a Danish play book and manages to impress, without the slightest hint of shouting or the ostentatious. The dark patterns within the sepia of the spalted maple are more evocative of renaissance (Leonardo? Michelangelo?), than modernism, and almost seem to continue on through the grain on the top and bottom of the oval shank (pic #s 3&4).
