Ashton: Claret Achievement Lovat with Spiral Carving (LX)

Classically inclined in terms of its proportions, but a bit unique in execution, this Lovat from Ashton offers plenty of chamber capacity in its thick-walled bowl, which may be the most traditional element of this pipe. The shank is carved in thick spirals instead of being round, but the abbreviated saddle stem stays true to form. A trim rendition, overall, this Lovat is dressed in the crimson tones of the Claret series, and the stylized shaping of the spiral carving is something to behold, as is the impressive texture of the finish.
