While the gentle taper down from the rim, the softly curved heel, sweeping transition, and stout shank all suggest an elegant composition, the craggy sandblast brings out the more rugged side of the briar, leaving behind a striking grain orientation. It's a boldly proportioned piece from Ashton, with plenty of substance in hand and a classic profile. Further commending this piece is one of Ashton's brindled vulcanite stems, the emerald and jade hues making for a striking, modern accent.
