Ashton: Brindle Poker with Silver (XX)
Product Number: 002-006-2927
Renowned among pipe enthusiasts for their handsome sandblasts and vibrant, brindled vulcanite stems, Ashton has been led by Jimmy Craig for the last several years. His affection for classic designs is evident in this fine-looking Poker, with its rather stout, cylindrical bowl proudly poised at the end of a round shank and a gently downturned stem. The low transition and lengthy shank-and-stem combination balance things out nicely, the proportions pleasing to the eye. This piece is dressed in one of Ashton's dark, ruby-tinged sandblasts, coaxing forth gorgeous stacks of ring grain all around the bowl, while a bright silver accent adds elegance and lightens the composition. Further commending this Poker is a striking cumberland stem, its burgundy and black hues pairing well with the stummel's coloration.-Angela Robertson
