While still remaining robust and muscular, this squat Rhodesian from Ashton embraces a more curvaceous approach, the bowl's normally firm heel made more supple, for example. Displaying a subtle ridgeline beneath the tapered rim, the bowl still presents a forward-urging profile, but in a more gentle fashion than in other renditions. A high-set transition leads to the gently curling shank-and-stem arrangement, with the proportions pleasantly balanced for a sweeping, seamless profile. And certainly not to be forgotten is Ashton's dark, handsome ruby-tinged Pebble Grain sandblast, providing textural and visual intrigue.
