Ashton: Brindle Bent Pot with Silver Army Mount and Cap (XXX)
Product Number: 002-006-2945
The languid curvature of this Pot from Ashton is contrasted by its generous use of bright and geometric silver. Ashton pipes are especially known for their quality silverwork, and here that reputation proves itself with a broad sterling rim cap and wide mount, each visually highlighted in further contrast by the dark stain of the Brindle finish. The aggressive sandblast accentuates the growth rings that angle across the flanks, while the tapered mouthpiece is itself accentuated by a swirling variegation of muted browns and charcoals.- Chuck Stanion
