Ashton: Pebble Grain Bent Dublin (XXX)

This bent Dublin from Ashton is a slight departure from the workshop's devotion to classic English shapes, with craftsman Jimmy Craig incorporating a diamond shank and pronounced heel transition into the typically flowing design, but it's a rendition often seen in the English marque's portfolio. The bowl displays a very subtle flare, a serious-feeling interpretation for a Dublin, a form well suited to the dark hues and texture of the English marque's Pebble Grain sandblast. The Bulldog-like shank rises with aplomb to the matching diamond-shaped shoulders of a jet black, bent saddle stem. Rendered in Ashton's XXX size, the piece is medium by designation and just over five-and-a-half inches in overall length. However, the bowl houses an ample smoking chamber that promises this piece will be in your hand for a while.
