Ashton: Pebble Grain Rhodesian (XXX) Tobacco Pipe

Though of Ashton's most medium size group, the XXX, this Rhodesian fills the hand wonderfully: its ridged, double tapered bowl standing proudly on the heel and providing a natural groove for the fingers. There is a wonderful symmetry about this pipe, the bowl and shank in line evenly, bowl itself almost a pristine circle, and muscular character of the stummel balanced by the elegantly bent saddle stem.The Pebble Grain sandblast reveals a tight array of growth rings that radiate from the heel all the way up the stummel, and imbues the piece with a subdued rusticity befitting the timeless profile.
