Ashton: Pebble Grain Bent Dublin (XX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-3101
Compared to many of Ashton's previous iterations of bent Dublins this size, the pipe we have today is significantly more reserved, less gestural, and more traditionally inclined. The profile of the pipe is the classic bent Dublin, featuring a gently arced saddle stem and a softly angled shank, and the line drawn by the eye through the underside of this pipe is a smooth, continuous curve. This imbues the pipe with a softness which contrasts with the darkly stained Pebble Grain finish dressing the stummel, and makes for a comfortable presence in hand. The bowl rises proudly from the heel and holds a chamber of deceptive volume relative to the overall size of the piece, its walls more than thick enough to ensure comfortable smoking.
