Ashton: Brindle Dublin with Silver (ELX)
Product Number: 002-006-3253
Rendered in Ashton's massive ELX size, this straight Dublin by Jimmy Craig is a truly impressive take on the classic shape, with a length stretching to nearly seven-and-a-half inches, and a bowl height approaching three containing a truly capacious tobacco chamber. It's a 1/5 of a pound in total weight, with a plethora of fine detail and bespoke touches to delight the discerning collector. A crisp sandblast and dark stain dress the stummel, accentuating some excellent growth rings climbing the bowl, while the rim has been finished smooth and lighter for a lively contrast. The brindled vulcanite stem is close to cumberland, but brighter in coloration, and set off nicely by a bright sterling silver band at the shank end. If you are looking for a large, elegant straight Dublin, or just appreciate Ashton's pedigree of quality and like large pipes, this one is for you.- Joel Balyeat
