Since Bill Ashton-Taylor left Dunhill in the early 1980s to start his own pipe brand, the Ashton name has been associated with quality smoking instruments in true, traditional English style. That reputation remains as strong as ever under the leadership of Jimmy Craig, who has captained the workshop for the last decade. Particularly known for their gorgeous sandblasts and a penchant for brindled vulcanite, Ashton pipes are sought by collectors for their combination of traditionalism and modernity — here manifested in a sure-sitting, deep-chambered Poker, the craggy sandblast accented by an emerald and black-hued stem, making for a more modern color palette.
