This Dublin from Ashton features a flared rim and a subtle taper throughout the bowl that results in a firm heel. The shank extends from the low-slung, tight-knit transition, balancing with the bowl in profile, before giving way to a tapering stem of green and black vulcanite. The vibrant, lively color of the stem adding a dose of flash that contrasts with the Old Church tanblast that dresses the stummel, making for a stimulating color palette that captures the eyes. The finish accentuates some gorgeous whorls of blasted birdseye across the flanks of the bowl and lends the piece plenty of rich texture to delight the fingers. Boasting a lightweight disposition despite its "LX" size, this piece conforms quite well to the hand, with plenty of room to drape a finger over the transition.
