Ashton: Brindle Achievement Don (XX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-3442
This Ashton design immediately calls to mind Dunhill's iconic "45" shape, more commonly referred to as the "Don." It pays homage to Ashton's founder Bill Taylor's time at Dunhill, before he left to start his own brand in the early 1980s. This rendition from Jimmy Craig features the form's characteristic cylindrical, flat-heeled, Poker-like bowl, as well as an abbreviated shank and mount-style stem arrangement. The long, arcing nature of the languidly bent ruby-and-olive-toned mouthpiece gives the composition a classy appearance, similar to the Prince but in a more practical, sure-sitting form that's ideal for use as a desk pipe. This piece is one we don't see very often from Jimmy Craig and is a wonderful tribute to another venerated English firm.
