Ashton boasts a well-earned reputation for quality craftsmanship and stellar finishes, and this Rhodesian is a fine example of Jimmy Craig's talents, including silversmithing. The Group 4 bowl is a bit more rounded than in some renditions and is replete with twin beadlines. It's paired to an equally stout, upturned shank and topped by a downturned saddle stem, promoting a comfortable smoking posture in this lightweight piece. It's wearing the dark, ruby-toned sandblast of the Pebble Grain finish, bringing to mind those seen on pipes from English marques in the early 20th century, while a gleaming band of silver furthers its sophisticated aesthetic.
