This Oom Paul from Ashton is a hearty rendition, with its tall, cylindrical bowl offering lots of chamber capacity. The form's characteristic deep bend and nearly vertical climb of the shank and stem balance things out nicely. Additionally, the heel is flattened, allowing it to sit sturdily. This piece is dressed in a dark, craggy sandblast and further enhanced by a trim band of sterling silver at the shank end, and a swirled vulcanite stem. A versatile pipe, it's able to sit on a desk or be hung comfortably from the jaw, with plenty of textural intrigue to delight the fingers.
