While Ashton is known for their distinctive, extra-craggy sandblasts, the English marque executes smooth finish with the same level of precision and detail, as evidenced by this bent Brandy. Tall and muscular, the bowl here stands at the fore of a sinuously bent shank-and-stem arrangement, and displays a steady taper form its wide, plump heel to its fairly taut rim. The shank-and-stem arrangement's pronounced S-curve encourages a comfortable smoking posture and adds a good deal of gesture to the shape's overall silhouette. The fetching Sovereign smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights a handsome display of grain around the bowl, while a tapered stem of black and green vulcanite tops everything off and lends a touch of bespoke color to the pipe's otherwise reserved palette.
