A soft, gestural shape from Ashton, this Acorn offers a tall, slightly canted bowl that rises from a sweeping, rounded heel to a broad, high-set waistline. An upturned shank and smartly bent tapering stem bring up the rear of the composition, the duo striking a lively S-curve that encourages a comfortable smoking posture and lends a good bit of fluidity to the pipe's profile. The handsome sandblast of the Ebony finish dresses the stummel and unveils rippling growth rings across the flanks of the bowl, while its sterling silver accent adorns the junction and offers rich contrast to this wonderfully dressy piece.
