Ashton: Old Church Prince (XX) Tobacco Pipe

Rendered in straight form, the Prince shape boasts a soft elegance paired with firm regalness, and Ashton offers here a thoroughly classic and attractive rendition. Low-waisted and easy of transition, the squat bowl sits affably in front of an arrow-straight stem-and-shank combination. The tapered, vulcanite stem makes up most of the piece's length while the bowl is rather diminutive, rendered in Group 1 proportions. It's a beautiful interpretation, and the Old Church finish offers a textured sandblast underneath a light stain that will allow the briar to darken naturally with a patina as it's smoked over the years.
