Ashton: Pebble Grain Belge (XX) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-006-3856

Bill Ashton-Taylor got his start making pipes for Dunhill, but after mastering the craft, realized he needed to set out on his own, so he founded the British marque Ashton. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. A seldom-seen offering from Ashton, this Belge represents the long history of pipe smoking, as it was the favored shape for clay pipes during height of their popularity in the 16th and 17th centuries. However, this Belge is crafted from briar and is dressed in Ashton's rugged Pebble Grain sandblast, highlighting the craggy, organic texture in rustic hues. Moreover, the pronounced forward-cant of the supple bowl, proportional shank, and elongated tapered stem manifests the Belge's sleek character, indicative of why the shape is so timeless.
