Ashton: Claret Dublin (XX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-4003
Bill Ashton-Taylor got his start making pipes for Dunhill, but after mastering the craft, realized he needed to set out on his own, so he founded the British marque Ashton. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. This Dublin by Ashton possesses a lightweight bowl with a trumpeting rim that is situated above a flattened heel, imbuing this piece with a whimsical shaping flourish. Out back, the lithe, arrow-straight shank and stem emerge from a mid-set transition, hinting at the organic Acorn shape as it forms a sleek profile. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in Ashton's stunning Claret sandblast, highlighting growth rings and wiry flame grain in an eye-catching ruby stain.
