Ashton: Claret Billiard with Silver (XXX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-4008
Eager to become part of the pipe making process, Bill Ashton-Taylor started working as an apprentice at Dunhill in 1959 when he was only 15 years old. With a burning passion and a high standard for quality pipe making, he would go on to found the Ashton marque, whose legacy has been carried on by Jimmy Craig since Bill's passing in 2009. This Billiard by Ashton elegantly demonstrates classic English shaping standards through its poised figure. The bowl stands pert and upright, with sturdy walls that transition into a proportionally balanced shank, which is fitted with a silver military mount. Paired to the mount is a slender tapered stem of jet-black vulcanite. The stummel wears Ashton's vibrant Claret finish, complete with a rich, scarlet stain and a crisp sandblast that highlight waves of growth rings across the left flank.
