Ashton: Old Church Paneled Bent Pot with Silver (X) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-4010
Bill Ashton-Taylor got his start making pipes for Dunhill, but after mastering the craft, realized he needed to set out on his own, so he founded the British marque Ashton. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. This bent Pot by Ashton is an exceptionally slender take on the classic shape. The bowl, which is typically robust and muscular, is quite petite, and it is framed by six crisp facets that imbue this piece with an architectural character. Out back, the slim shank runs to the trim silver band that adorns the junction, from which the vulcanite stem demurely bends downward as it tapers to the bit. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in the blonde hues and rugged texture of Ashton's iconic Old Church sandblast.
