Ashton: Brindle Bent Bulldog (XX) Tobacco Pipe

Headed by Jimmy Craig, English workshop Ashton primarily crafts pipes of a timeless, classical style, often elevated by stems of signature brindled vulcanite and fitments of elegant silver. A bent Bulldog with an appreciable length that yet maintains a poised, graceful character, this XX-sized piece presented by Ashton is true to the shape-chart archetype. The sharply angled shank informs the curling stem, making for a comfortable smoking posture that additionally lends this piece an elegant silhouette, the underside's ridge informing an especially sharp heel. A wide transition sees the ridges lining the shank and stem continue into the bowl before gently dissipating as they meet the soft ridge that delineates the bowl's taper to the rim, adding further to the muscularity of the piece. The pipe is finished with Ashton's crisp, darkly-stained Brindle sandblast and is paired to a sleek saddle stem of black and brown vulcanite, complementing the stummel wonderfully.
