Ashton: Old Church Rhodesian (XXX) Tobacco Pipe

Headed by Jimmy Craig, English workshop Ashton primarily crafts pipes of a timeless, classical style, often elevated by stems of signature brindled vulcanite and fitments of elegant silver. This Rhodesian is a smartly curved example of the classic shape, its shank and stem lifting out of a transition wide enough to drape a digit. Said shank is a thick, cylindrical stretch of briar that meets a well-bent saddle stem of black vulcanite, the combination poised excellently for easy jaw-hanging. The aft side pairing is hearty and balances the visual weight of the bowl well, with the bowl itself sitting atop a sweeping heel and taking on a robust shape at the fore. Said bowl flares out toward a high-set waist marked with dual beadlines, followed by a swift taper toward a flat rim, its entire build possessed of a broad, muscular character. Dressed in the crisp tanblast of the Old Church series, this pipe showcases lovely grain and ample texture.
