Founded in 1983 by William "Bill" Ashton-Taylor, who worked as a Dunhill apprentice, the Ashton workshop is lauded for its incredibly high standards of quality and mastery of classic English design principles. Jimmy Craig currently heads the company, having taken up the mantle after Bill's passing in 2009. Since then, he has sustained the Ashton legacy by steadfastly following the founder's philosophy of equally prioritizing all parts of the pipe, and utilizing only the best materials and most pristine finishing.

Continuing the English marque's legacy of fine craftsmanship is this handmade Rhodesian. Possessed of classic proportions, this piece presents an elegant profile. The broad bowl provides a reassuring presence in hand and the bent stem, joining the piece by way of a silver-shouldered shank, promotes a comfortable jaw hanging posture. Part of the Pebble Grain series, this piece wears a crisp sandblast and rich, ruby-tinged stain. The highly-textured sandblast lends this pipe not only a rich, luxurious appearance for the eyes to admire, but plenty of tactile intrigue for the hands to admire, too.
