Ashton: Old Church Dublin (XXX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-4255
At 15, William (Bill) Ashton-Taylor began his pipe-making career by signing under Alfred Dunhill. Starting as an intern, Bill retained a keen interest in the craft. Eventually, this sparked the attention of Harry Saigrott, who began showing Bill the artistry of pipe making. By 1980, Bill founded Ashton Company, where he set a high standard for quality pipe making. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. This Dublin is a fine showcase of Craig's Anglo-French design style and impressive silverwork. Up front, the bowl holds the shape's traditional flare and proudly boasts the warm, craggy sandblast of the English marque's Old Church finish. A round shank marries the bowl and pairs to a long, tapering stem of brindled green and black vulcanite, which provides a contemporary flash to the composition.
