Ashton: Brindle Bent Billiard with Silver (XX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-006-4275
William Ashton-Taylor began his pipe-making studies at a mere fifteen years of age as an assistant in Dunhill's workshop. He demonstrated great interest in and talent for the craft, which led him to move up through the ranks before he eventually left to start his own company, Ashton, in 1983. This bent Billiard from Ashton is a slender pipe of classic Anglo-French proportions. The silver army mount at the aft of the shank paired to a tapered stem made of acrylic adds artistic flair to an otherwise standard Billiard. Being a push-style mouthpiece makes the base of this stem significantly narrower than it would be had the stem's face matched the circumference of the shank's. The bowl's subtle forward cant balances the gentle downturn of the brindled stem, lending the pipe an easy posture for jaw hanging. A black sandblast dresses the stummel, providing a scintillating texture for the palm.
