Askwith: Smooth Olivewood Devil Anse Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-499-0130

Since the airing of the Hatfields & McCoys miniseries a few years back, it seems like just about every pipemaker has made at least one variation of the Devil Anse, as we now call it. The catch there is variation. Here Chris Askwith presents something unusual: the Devil Anse shape pretty much is it appeared clenched between Kevin Costner's teeth, in his role as "Devil Anse" Hatfield. The shank looks a bit shorter and not quite as slim, but overall, this is something far closer to the original inspiration. That's shape-wise, anyway, as Chris did clearly take a different direction in materials, rendering the stummel in pale olivewood and the stem in a dark black-and-yellow brindled vulcanite.
