Askwith: Moon Rock Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Well, we've seen a number of space-inspired finishes, alien-like forms, and streamlined feats of shaping that practically look primed for takeoff, but this finish from Chris Askwith seems to be one of the most out-of-this-world yet. Indeed, seeming to make use of a microsandblasting technique similar to his Weathered Bone finish, along with several regions of delicate spot carving, Chris has produced a finish that distinctly evokes the topography of the lunar surface. Fittingly, he's applied it to a rounded, slightly muscular Acorn shape, with crater-like divots visible in profile at the rim to reinforce the moon-like aesthetic. Finished in a light, dusty grey stain, complemented by a creamy off-white juma stem, it's a playful piece well-suited to whatever mission you choose to accept.
