Askwith: Sandblasted Morta Devil Anse

Product Number: 002-499-0252

Highly popular since the release of the mini-series "Hatfields & McCoys", artisans and factories around the world have worked to create their own unique versions of the Devil Anse pipe smoked by Costner's character, from which it gets its name. In terms of shaping, Chris Askwith has changed little with the overall shape, however, one major change of significance really is in mediums — the original Anse looks to have been all briar (which may explain why Costner clenched it where he did, rather than on the button), while Askwith's are made in various combinations of stem colors and stummel-mediums, including briar, olivewood, and as you see here, jet-black morta.
