Askwith: Sandblasted Morta Devil Anse
Product Number: 002-499-0260
A common shape from Chris Askwith, this Devil Anse is easily recognized as the work of the English carver. Fitting into the popular archetype, it features a forward-canted, Apple-like bowl on the end of an abbreviated shank and stem combination. Chris's renditions are always an attractive blend of plumpness and sleek lines — the bowl marked by extensive roundedness while the shank and stem taper diminutively out back. A nosewarmer through and through, this piece is well suited to travel and smoking on-the-go, easily slipping into a pocket. That said, however, it doesn't lack in chamber size, and the color palette makes it incredibly eye-catching despite the small overall size: pairing jet-black, sandblasted morta to an acrylic stem of swirled scarlet, ebony, and lemon hues.-Truett Smith
