Askwith: Blue Moon Rock Billiard Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-499-0290

Quite literally a finish that we see once in a blue moon, Chris Askwith's Moon Rock is easily one of the English carver's most unique and rarest finishes. It's primarily a micro-sandblasting technique that Askwith also utilizes for his Weathered Bone pieces, creating a finish that's unlike normal blasts that unveil birdseye and ring grain patterns. The Moon Rock goes beyond the micro-blast, adding dimpled "craters" of differing sizes and depths to the stummel's surface, the finish readily evoking the appearance of its namesake. Here, that distinctive finish is dressing a hearty, classic Billiard, its large size allowing for more surface area to showcase the Moon Rock finish. The stummel has been stained a deep midnight blue, with lighter areas scattered throughout and paired to one of Askwith's signature polyester mouthpieces. The stem color coordinates with the stummel but features glimmering specks throughout, evoking the look of a starry constellation in a far away galaxy.
