Askwith: Sandblasted Dublin

Product Number: 002-499-0302

While Chris Askwith is renowned for pipes that display vibrant color palettes and ones fashioned from alternative materials, the English carver is more than capable of delivering a traditionally inclined piece, to which this Dublin can attest. The bowl is Stack-like in regards to both its height and chamber depth, offering plenty of surface to showcase the chocolate-tinged sandblast. The round shank and abbreviated saddle stem call to mind a Lovat, both elements accentuating the towering bowl's visual prominence in profile. A trim band of smooth briar provides a subtle accenting touch while the jet-black color of the polyester mouthpiece is remarkably reserved from Chris but suits this design handsomely. It's an ideal piece for anyone looking to experience Askwith's work but prefer their pipes to be on the more classic side.
