Askwith: Sandblasted Morta Bent Dublin

Product Number: 002-499-0321

Chris Askwith's pipes are probably the most non-English designs ever to come out of England. His approach to pipe making is one of pushing the boundaries of classic shaping and color cues, looking to the pipe chart more as inspiration than as a stencil to be followed with exactness. In the case of this bent Dublin, the slender shank and tall, flared, forward-canted bowl are Danish influenced, calling to mind the angular style of Pipe-Dan pieces. It's been fashioned from dense morta and dressed in a crisp sandblast for intriguing grain patterns. In conventional Askwith fashion, the dark-stained stummel has been paired to a contrasting stem of vivid, neon yellow and creamy white polyester.
