Askwith: Sandblasted Morta Bent Pot

Product Number: 002-499-0334

Likely inspired by Castello's iconic "55" design, this bent Pot from Chris Askwith features the same firm, jutting chin and overall stout, low-lying bowl, with the stummel in this version rendered from lightweight morta. Known for putting his own artistic touch to classic pieces and topping them with vibrant stems, the English carver is also well-versed in the use of alternative materials, as in this dark, sandblasted piece, the morta endowing the pipe with unique grain patterns. Additionally, the sleek, cumberland-hued polyester mouthpiece is also unique and modern, while a dome-shaped, broad metallic accent lends a dash of flash and contrast to this handsome composition.
