The Prince is quite an elegant shape, its downturned stem giving it an easy grace in profile, particularly when paired to the soft plumpness of the bowl. In this example from Chris Askwith, the pairing is particularly neat, with a touch more extra breadth to its bowl than the English classic and a slighter turn, keeping its style particularly gentle. It shrugs off the usual feeling of delicacy, however, with a bright metallic accent and brilliant, emerald-hued polyester stem that complement the dark, sandblasted palette of morta.
