Askwith: Sandblasted Prince Tobacco Pipe

It has been about six years since we've received a Prince shape consisting of briar from Chris Askwith; most of his recent renditions have been made from morta, a material the carver utilizes quite often and with equal aplomb. The Prince is an elegant, slender shape, with its lithe, gently downturned stem lending the form an easy grace in profile. The pert, demure Apple bowl offers a charming, soft plumpness with the bowl and abbreviated shank dressed in a dark ruby sandblast. A stylish, bright metal band lends the piece a dress-pipe aesthetic, and fitted to one of the artisan's hand-cut polyester stems, this one of ebony hue.
