Askwith: Smooth Morta Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Chris Askwith has created quite a reputation for himself as a carver known for his skill in using alternative materials along with his penchant for modernizing English classics. This robust Dublin is fashioned from morta, the semi-petrified bog oak material prized for its neutral-flavor smoking properties and usual light weight. The flaring, sloping rim gradually tapers to one of the English artisan's iconic pointed, extra-firm heels. The hearty, yet shapely bowl is paired to a lengthy stretch of tapering shank and stem, the latter one of Chris' signature polyester mouthpieces presented in a bright yellow with a jet-black band allowing for a visual break near its base. The morta is also stained black, showing off the medium's mesmerizing grain patterns, all of which echo a lively color palette.
