Askwith: Rusticated Billiard Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-499-0429

English artisan Chris Askwith is a talented pipe carver who works primarily in the traditional Anglo-French style, often adding his creative flourishes through handsome polyester accent stems and aluminum bands, both of which are well-represented in this piece. A classic Billiard in shaping and proportion, the pert bowl is finely tapered, with a sloping heel that transitions smoothly into a slim round shank adorned with a shiny aluminum band. The ensemble is completed by a milky-hued polyester tapered stem, offering the comfort of vulcanite with aesthetic qualities of acrylic. The stummel is dressed in a fine rustication, with soft ridges that ripple around the bowl in an organic, grain-like pattern. The black stain on the stummel is handsomely contrasted by a smooth chestnut-hued rim. Pairing traditional sensibilities with tastefully modern style, this piece is sure to be a welcome addition to any pipe rack.
