By and large, of the Bulldog shape renditions we've seen previously from Kurt Balleby, the majority have sported quite a bit of upward-thrust briar above the beadline, which would make this handsome fellow something of an outlier. Indeed, the bowl is relatively classic overall, with a high-set beadline leading to an almost domed rim up top. Complementing that, the base leads effortlessly into the lively trail of shank and stem, guided by tight paneling to the shank's left and right flanks, serving to carry lively flame across the composition. And there's plenty of it to go around, with birdseye alike, all accentuated by one of Kurt's warmer, more vibrant contrasts — a fitting means of dressing such a streamlined form.
