Barling: Ivory 1812 Rusticated Meerschaum Bent Billiard with Silver Spigot (with Case) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-132-0095
In 1812, Benjamin Barling began outfitting meerschaum pipes with intricate silverwork, laying the foundation for the Barling family to later become one of the most recognized and respected makers of briar pipes in the world. In 2020 Kopp Pipes resurrected the historically English marque, releasing a new line of Barlings in a fitting tribute to their 200 year legacy.
The Ivory 1812 series is named in honor of the earliest Barling pipes, composed of classic shapes rendered from solid-block meerschaum adorned with handsomely textured sterling silver accoutrements and in either smooth or rusticated finishes. These fine pieces are all equipped with acrylic stems that accommodate a 9mm filter, each inlaid with a sterling silver lion's head in celebration of a new era of Barling pipes. With time and use, the stummel of these pipes will patinate in dark amber and brown hues for added character. This example of the Ivory 1812 series takes the form of a rusticated bent Billiard fitted with a sterling silver spigot mount for added elegance, and it comes complete with a custom, hard-shell case.
