Third-generation Italian artisan Federico Becker continues to build upon the pipe-making tradition established by his father, Paolo, and grandfather, Fritz, crafting distinctive, lively shapes from high-quality briar. A handsome example of Federico's signature style, this Dublin boasts a trim build and an angular outline: the former by way of the incredibly trim shank-and-stem arrangement; the latter, owing to the bowl's jutting, spur-like heel. Said heel supports the bowl's considerable height and marks the start of a steady flare that terminates at a comparatively broad rim. A wide transition follows the bowl and births a lean shank that reaches out and joins a slender tapered stem. The lithe shank-and-stem arrangement focuses attention to the bowl and keeps the pipe lightweight in hand and sleek in profile. Dressed in a warm, honey-blonde smooth finish, the stummel offers a wealth of attractive grain, with tight tendrils of flame grain streaking across the bowl's frame.
