Benni Jorgensen: Sandblasted Bent Brandy with Olivewood
Product Number: 002-331-0246
Though, like many Benni Jorgensen designs, this bent Tomato does sport quite a solid bit of substance, overall its organic asymmetry wins out as the defining element. With considerable tweaking of the shank's cross-section, a sweeping, shell-edge ridge running the length of the right flank, and a bowl design that appears to have taken inspiration from Hiroyuki Tokutomi's "balanced asymmetry" approach, overall it proves a fine example of how to make a briar that's very robust physically, yet still alive and active aesthetically.
