Benni Jorgensen: Smooth Long Shank Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Though foregoing his typical, more modernist use of a streamlined, often heavily-pinched shank, here Benni Jorgensen presents us with a neat, forward-ebbing take on the long shank Acorn. Of course, implied movement is often a central theme in the carver's work, though with this fellow's sense of upward lift coupled with his characteristically fluid, arching line at the underside, I'm reminded of the French comedy-drama featurette The Red Balloon. You shouldn't have any trouble keeping hold of it once it's in your collection however, as this one is quite substantial.
