Somewhere in between an Hourglass and a Bent Dublin, Brebbia's "7069" shape is quite a unique one, showcasing a playful muscularity throughout its build. The shank here kicks quite high coming out of the tightly knit transition, angling the curved stem for comfortable smoking and lending this piece a dramatic, almost acrobatic stance. Resting on a pronounced heel, the bowl immediately takes on a gentle taper to a slightly pinched waistline before flaring, then, to an undulating rim that keeps the fore of this piece quite intriguing. Dressing the briar here is a craggy rustication and a natural finish, offering a wealth of texture in hand and the promise of future patination as it is smoked, its hues matched by the stem's amber hues and contrasted by a silvery band at the stem base.
