Bruno Nuttens: Handmade Sandblasted Bent Billiard Tobacco Pipe

Part of Bruno Nuttens' Handmade line, this bent Billiard showcases some of the French artisan's best work and fits in well with his more reserved works. The silhouette here is aerodynamic, with a defined forward lean throughout, emphasized by the shank-and-stem combination's arcing curvature from out of the wide transition. This coupling is rather unique, as the shank flares subtly as it lifts, and the stem that it's paired to boasts a base broader than the bit: creating an area of negative space that naturally draws the eye away from the fore. The bowl here is unflinchingly Danish in style, with a low-set waist and a subtly lowered heel that further roots the visual weight at the fore, its walls possessed of the Danish Billiard's subtle, arcing taper to the rim. Plump and curvaceous, this pipe is a comfortable and timeless piece, dressed as it is in a crisp, inky sandblast and paired to a jet-black vulcanite stem.
