Bruyere St. Claude: Extra Billiard with Horn

Product Number: 002-701-0061

Well, the Ropp Vintage sandblasts with horn stems have been a smash, and so I expect these Bruyeres St. Claude won't be hanging around long either. Like the Ropps, these came to us from Chapuis-Comoy, and like the Ropps, they are vintage. We even got a (more) solid date-range regarding when they were originally turned: between 1910 and the 1930s.

Aside from the smooth finishes, a notable difference between these BSCs and the Ropp sandblasts is the stem fitment; a metal tenon, with a cork-lined mortise. The latter is one of those things that, as Adam (Davidson) puts it, "no one does anymore." Which is a shame, since it makes for a very smooth fit for the tenon.
