Butz-Choquin: Montmartre (1320)
Product Number: 002-010-0579
This series takes inspiration (or at least its name) from the inherent beauty of the hill to the north of Paris, a district that boasts many famous sites including the white-domed Basilica Sacre Cœur, as well as the destination and home of many famous artists including Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. This pipe seems to fully embrace the prestige and cultural importance of Montmarte, as it is bestowed with a bright brass, wedding ring-like band around the shank and contrasted sandblast, to me, reminiscent of Parisian architecture, lit by the sparse streetlights, in the dusky red hues of sunset.
