Butz-Choquin: Balzac Churchwarden

Product Number: 002-010-3245

"I am about to become a genius," Honoré de Balzac exclaimed to his sister, after conceiving the La Comédie humaine, a multi-volume collection of interlinked novels meant to paint a panoramic portrait of all aspects of society. In the Churchwarden Balzac, Butz-Choquin has achieved something truly special, as well. Hearkening back to the smoking instruments of Balzac's era, it bears the shank-cusp and pointed heel that are so characteristic of old clay pipes. Where liberty was taken, is in the more modern Billiard-like bowl, finely blended in to look very natural, and with a chamber that is surprisingly deep.
